What Was Happening
Customer reported:
Weak cooling across the room
Musty smell after 15–20 minutes of use
Unit hadn’t been serviced in over 2 years
Filters were cleaned regularly, but the problem persisted
What We Found
Full Internal Choke
Blower fan coated in hardened dust, grease, and biofilm
Coil blocked with thick particulate buildup, severely restricting heat exchange
Drain pan showed early mold growth, risk of clogging and odour
Filter looked manageable — but everything behind it was choked

What We Did
Fully dismantled indoor fan coil unit
Removed blower, cover panels, filter housing, and coil tray
Performed chemical flush on coil, fan, drain, and casing
Cleaned and disinfected each component separately
Reassembled unit and tested airflow, drainage, and temperature
The Result
Cooling fully restored
Airflow balanced and strong
Smell eliminated at source
Drain pan now clear and dry — no moisture accumulation
What Could’ve Gone Wrong
Blocked airflow would force the system to overwork, spiking energy use
Mold growth in fan housing could worsen indoor air quality
Coil strain could reduce cooling lifespan or trigger sensor errors
Drain choke could cause internal leaks or wall damage
What This Case Shows
Filter cleaning isn’t enough.
When the internal coil and blower are packed like this, only a full chemical overhaul clears the root cause. If you’ve never seen your unit dismantled — you’ve never seen the full picture.
